Penal populism has been important factors that affect penal policy of manycountries in recent years. Penal populism tends to pass and enforce policiesthat populist without considering their efficiency. No attention to factorssuch as cost, efficiency and justice has indemnified to criminal justicesystem. Penal populism has emerged hereon of many factors such as mediarepresentation of crimes, tendency of politicians to introduce populistprograms about crime and criminal justice system and disappointment aboutefficiency of remedy and treatment programs. Penal populism in controlpolicies of drug crimes lend to unscientific politics overmasters scientificpolitics. Overcome of media dialogue on politics, tendency to punitiveness,restriction of accused rights and freedom, perform of dramatic andineffective politics and growth of disconfidence of people to criminal justiceare consequences of penal populism.Keywords: Penal Populism, Control Policies of Drugs, Punitiveness, AppealRight, Performing Punishments Publicly
