Abstract.

Migrant workers are considered one of the most vulnerable segments of the global workforce, and the extent to which their rights are upheld serves as a benchmark for measuring adherence to human rights principles. A major human rights challenge facing this group is the violation of their fundamental rights at work in Immigration-receiving countries like Qatar, particularly during the preparations for the 2022 World Cup football tournament. The main research question: To what extent and scope are the fundamental rights at work of migrant workers in Qatar upheld?. The research hypothesis—which the findings also support—is that no successful trajectory can be envisioned for this matter. This study uses an analytical- descriptive method, drawing on both library research and field data collection. Violations of migrant workers' fundamental rights at work in Qatar stem from both cultural and legal factors; consequently, reforms and revisions are required in both areas.
